Bradley Cooper’s fluency in French helped him become the 2011 “Sexiest Man Alive” in People but he is not the only one with bilingual talents. Many Hollywood stars are just as hot speaking in German or Russian as they are in English. Here are a few:
Sandra Bullock: America’s sweetheart accepted a European award entirely in German. Her mother was a German opera singer who brought Bullock and her sister to Germany during their summer vacations as children. The star grew up bilingual and speaks it flawlessly.
Bradley Cooper: A year abroad as an exchange student in France turned All-American Cooper into a man who could serenade a woman in the language of love. Cooper as promoted his films in France in interviews conducted entirely in French. Oh La La.
Michael Fassbender: The actor has said that one day he would like to star in a German language film. His German in X-Men: First Class reflects his German parentage. Fassbender was born in Heidelberg, Germany and raised in Ireland but learned the language through his father.
Mila Kunis: Born in the Ukraine, Kunis was only seven years old when her family moved to Los Angeles but maintained her Russian language ability. During a press conference in Moscow, Kunis impressed fans with her banter in fluent Russian with a reporter.
Viggo Mortensen: Mortensen is fluent in Danish, French, and Spanish and French. He also has some knowledge of Swedish and Norwegian. His multilingual ability is rare but it only adds to his distinctive charm as a character actor.
Charlize Theron: Her voice sounds American but English is not her first language. Theron was raised in South Africa and first spoke Afrikaans, her native language. She has demonstrated her bilingual skills on Piers Morgan where she revealed the true pronunciation of her name.
