Celebrity Birthdays, November 27

Happy birthday to Jaleel White and Kathryn Bigelow!

Jaleel White, 35
If the last time you've seen Jaleel White was on Family Matters as nerd Steve Urkel, you'll never recognize him now. The dorky glasses, neon-colored suspenders and nasally voice are long gone, replaced by a muscular built, handsome mustache and completely transformed Jaleel. And with that transformation came new roles in shows and movies like Psych, House M.D. and Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer, and even a music video! Over the summer, White was chosen by Cee Lo Green to be in his music video for "Cry Baby."

Kathryn Bigelow, 60
She's not an actress, but Bigelow is a history-making star in her own right. The Point Break director is the first female to win an Oscar for Best Director, which she won in 2010 for Hurt Locker, beating out ex-husband James Cameron, who was nominated for Avatar. Still not impressed? Well, Bigelow's achievement is even more noteworthy given the fact that she studied art at the San Francisco Art Institute after graduating high school. When she was 20, she received a prestigious scholarship to Whitney Museum's Independent Study Program, which allowed her to produce art and be judged by the likes of Richard Serra, Robert Rauschenberg and Susan Sontag. After her time with the program, she attended Columbia University's School of Art.
