Rachael Leigh Cook spoke last week at the Healthy Media for Youth Summit in DC about her previous struggles with her self-image and the impact of Photoshop on young girls.

When Cook was 15, she gained weight filming The Babysitters Club because there was so much free food on set. “I remember finishing that film and realizing that I had gained probably 10 pounds over the course of filming which is a lot when you're only 5'2."

It wasn’t the gaining weight part so much that bothers the actress. Cook explains that the way the media portrays women’s bodies is far from reality, and this causes young girls to have issues with their own bodies.

"Nothing that you see is real, even if you look at what looks like a candid photo of someone, anything can be done. It is false advertising and false advertising is a crime so why isn't this a crime? I'm just up in arms about it. People need to know that there are actual lenses that are put on cameras that make people stretched out,” she rants.

Celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Jessica Simpson, and Bethenny Frankel have released photos that are allegedly un-airbrushed. The Huffington Post presents some of these images.
