Celine Dion Expecting Twins

Canadian recording artist Celine Dion is expecting twins less than one year after experiencing a miscarriage

Celine Dion is expecting twins!

The Canadian singer’s manager and husband, Rene Angelil, confirmed Dion’s 14-week pregnancy to People Magazine.

“We're ecstatic. Celine is just hoping for a healthy pregnancy,” Angelil told "People" on Sunday. “She was hoping for one baby, and the news that we are having two is a double blessing."

Kim Jakwerth, a representative for the singer, said Dion had been trying acupuncture and in vitro fertilization in her efforts to get pregnant and conceived the twins on her sixth in vitro attempt. The family has chosen to wait until June to find out the genders of the children.

Dion comes from a family of 14 children and has been trying to get pregnant for more than a year, according to the Epoch Times. She told "Le Journal de Montreal," “I never gave up. But I can tell you that it was physically and emotionally exhausting.”

A five-time Grammy winner, Dion, known for the Titanic song “My Heart Will Go On,” has sold more than 200 million albums worldwide. The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Dion is working on both French and English-language albums and plans to start a three-year performing engagement in Las Vegas at Ceasar’s Palace.

According to Reuters, Angelil is 68 years old. Dion is 42. They have a 9-year-old son, Rene-Charles, who was also conceived through fertility treatments.
