Charice Is Set to Join the Cast of 'Glee'
Last week, Glee creator Ryan Murphy announced that new characters will be joining the cast for season two. He also gave an inside look at the backgrounds of the characters. He mentioned a new club member who will give our beloved Rachel Berry a run for her money.
Pop singer Charice Pempengco, 18, will join the Glee Club of McKliney High for season two. The young up-and-coming singer will have a recurring guest role. No words on whether or not the character will eventually stay.
Charice will portray a foreign exchange student with a big voice. She is mainly there to give Rachel, played by Lea Michele, some major competition. Charice's character will also start some drama within the glee club after getting the attention of the male gleeks.
Several months ago, the singer was asked if she was going to be on Glee and she denied all rumors. Charice is now saying that she didn't have the role then and auditioned after and got the role and is very excited about it.
The Philippines native was first featured on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2007 after a youtube video of her singing got huge attention. She was then called the most talented girl by Oprah and has a number one song, "Pyramid," on the Dance/Club charts.
