Charles Rogers Pleads Guilty to Drunk Driving
The Former Detroit Lion pleaded guilty today to drunk driving and faced 93 days in prison.
The Detroit Free Press reports that former Detroit Lions wide receiver Charles Rogers pleaded guilty on Monday to drunk driving. The former NFL player could face up to 93 days in prison. His sentencing is Nov. 10.
According to MLive.com, Rogers, 28, was selected by the Detroit Lions Rogers with the 2nd overall pick in the 2003 NFL draft, but was cut in 2006 after "back-to-back collar bone injuries slowed him down." Rogers was found unresponsive when firefighters found him in his car on Sept. 16, the day he was arrested. He refused to take a Breathalyzer test as well.
Pro Football Weekly states that Rogers has a history of run-ins with the law. In March, Rogers spent 15 days in jail for possession of Vicodin without a prescription.
