Charlie Sheen is still working on Anger Management, which will be his first television series since he was fired from Two and a Half Men. Currently the show, which was picked up by FX, is still trying to find actors to fill its leading roles. Sheen finally revealed the actress that he is looking at to star alongside him in an interview with Access Hollywood.
In the interview, Sheen told Access Hollywood that he is interested in casting Selma Blair in the lead female role. He called her a “strong front runner,” adding that “She’s a very special lady and is as pretty as the day is long and has never really had the opportunity to do something where she can shine, because off camera she’s hilarious.”
Blair starred on television in Kath & Kim, which ran from 2008 to 2009. However, she is best known for her work in Hellboy II: The Golden Army.
According to CTV, Sheen admitted that ex-wife Denise Richards, who recently had a hilarious guest spot on 30 Rock, would be the ideal candidate for the role.
Sheen had nothing but nice things to say about Richards, noting that he even regrets leaving her. He also confirmed that he is currently not seeing anyone. “I don’t have a girlfriend, no, but I’m having a good time,” he told Access Hollywood.
At a party hosted by LionsGate, Sheen did not tell the media who he was looking at to star in Anger Management, only saying, “I know who I want” to fill the roles of his therapist, ex-wife and daughter, according to USA Today.
LionsGate’s Debmar-Mercury is producing an initial 10 episodes of Anger Management to air on FX starting in June. If the first 10 are extremely successful, then an additional 90 will be produced.
