Chelsea Handler has no regrets after abortion

Talk show host Chelsea Handler recently revealed the abortion she had when she was a teenager.

Handler, 36, appeared on The Rosie Show Wednesday and revealed to host Rosie O’Donnell that she got pregnant when she was 16.

"I was so delusional," Handler said on her determination to keep the child. "I was like, 'I'm ready for a baby.'"

However, her parents had different plans.

"You're throwing your entire life away," Rita and Seymour told their daughter. "You're supposed to create a life for yourself. We want you to enjoy your life and not be raising a child, and we're certainly not going to raise it for you."

Twenty years later, Chandler shows no regrets about not having the baby.

"I wouldn't be a good mother," she said when O’Donnell mentioned the ongoing debate about abortion. "You should do whatever you want with your body and you shouldn't let anyone tell you what to do. I have no regret at all.”

Handler currently hosts the late night talk show Chelsea Lately on E! and has a recurring role on the NBC show Are You There, Chelsea?, which is based on her best-selling books. She also contributes articles to the magazines Cosmopolitan and NOW.
