British pop star, Cheryl Cole, will be returning as a judge on FOX’s X-Factor when all is said and done.

Rumors have been swirling for quite some time about Simon Cowell’s X-Factor as reports of who would be judges came out slowly. When it was revealed that Cole would be a judge things seemed to go over smoothly until the show started auditions.

Just four days into taping Cole was let go from the show for unnamed reasons. Cowell and the network both declined to comment on the matter, but it could be that Cole wasn’t performing like everyone thought she would. She received her full pay of $1.4 million and headed back to England to be replaced by Nicole Scherzinger, Pussycat Dolls lead singer.

Now, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that FOX wants Cole back on the show as a judge. It’s a strange twist of events, but sources are saying that Cole was off her game in the beginning, but will now be ready.

X-Factor is set to start taping again, but with the fiasco it is unsure where everyone who is involved will fit in. The Guardian is reporting that Cowell personally wants Cole back on the show and never wanted her to leave.

The future is now unclear for Scherzinger as she has no judge position with Cole in the mix. It is possible that Scherzinger could become a co-host with Steve Jones, which was originally the plan.
