Chicage Bears player dies at 26
The Chicago Bears' 26-year-old defensive end, Gaines Adams, died in South Carolina this morning.
Adams was rushed to the emergency room at Self Regional Hospital in Greenwood, S.C. where he was pronounces dead at 9 a.m., according to ESPN. A preliminary autopsy indicated he died of cardiac arrest caused by an enlarged heart.
The Bears released a statement saying, "We are stunned and saddened by the news of Gaines' passing. Our prayers are with his family during this difficult time."
