Choreographer arrested on suspicion of raping students

Alex Da Silva, 41, well known as a salsa dance teacher and his appearances on a popular FOX program, was arrested for suspicion of sexually assaulting four of his dance students, according to the Associated Press.Da Silva would invite students over to his home and then trick them into going into his room, according to a police statement, reports zap2it.com. Allegedly, he then raped them, the statement continued.The first three women accused Da Silva in 2003, 2004 and 2005 but files were not charged, reports the New York Times. It wasn't until the newest report was filed, on March 25, that the previous cases were re-established.The four women, who have never met, had very similar situations described in their statements, which led to the re-opening of the previous cases, according to AP.Da Silva is being held on $3.8-million bail and his court date is scheduled for Tuesday, April 7, reports zap2it.com.
