Chris Brown to Have a Sour and Lonely Valentine's Day

After this Sunday's incident between Chris Brown and (ex?)girlfriend Rihanna, Brown's father, Clinton Brown, reports that his son is "remorseful." According to People, Brown's father also said, "This is unfortunate, this stumble, this situation. . . . Hopefully, he will get past it. We all have our shortcomings. We all trip."

Brown, after an argument with Rihanna in their rented Lambo, left her bruised and beaten. She was taken to Cedars-Sinai for treatment and has been cooperating with police in their investigation of the assault. Brown, who turned himself in a few hours later, posted $50,000 bail and was released.

Neither side attended the NAACP Image Awards this evening, and both have canceled scheduled appearances while remaining silent on the altercation.

The controversy has sparked heated debates online by fans; some who back Rihanna, and others who blame her for causing the fight and Brown's arrest. Some radio stations have also decided to put Brown's songs on hold until the situation has been resolved.

The Los Angeles District Attorney is not expected to officially charge Brown with anything until next week.
