Chris Brown Update: ‘Doing Really, Really Well’
R&B singer Chris Brown was in Los Angeles today for a brief court appearance at the Los Angeles Superior Court.
According to a judge, Brown is “doing really, really well” and is fulfilling all the terms of his five year probation for last year’s assault on ex-girlfriend star Rihanna.
The assault occurred after a pre-Grammy awards ceremony last year. Brown pleaded guilty on June 22, 2009 and on Aug. 25 was sentenced to five years probation including 180 days of community labor, 32 of which he has already completed.
Brown was also ordered to complete a 52-week domestic violence counseling program and he has already attended 17 of them.
Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg warned Brown that violation of his probation can lead to his incarceration. This also requires Brown to stay at least 100 yards from singer Rihanna, unless it is an entertainment related event, then it's 10 yards away.
Since his guilty plea, Brown has made many efforts in order to regain the trust of his fans by doing interviews and even posting an apology video on his Web site saying he was “truly, truly sorry” and that his conduct was “inexcusable.”
Brown is to report back in court on May 11.
