Christian Slater Refuses Plea Bargain
The "Untamed Heart" actor appeared in court in Manhattan and was mobbed by the media.
Actor Christian Slater reported to court on Thursday for a May incident in which he allegedly grabbed the buttocks of a woman in Manhattan's Upper East Side. Slater turned down a plea bargain offered by the prosecution that said if the actor pleads guilty, he must complete three days of community service. Instead, Slater's lawyer Eric Franz told Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Richard Weinberg that the case "warrants dismissal." Franz tried to delay the upcoming September 15 appearance date because the actor is scheduled to star in a London stage production of Sweet Bird of Youth but the judge turned down the request. Seems the Judge has no sympathy for someone who has an untamed hand.
