Christie Brinkley Hangs Out with Billy Joel

To get away from her ugly courthouse battles with Peter Cook, Christie Brinkley spent Fourth of July with some familiar faces.

With daughter Alexa Joel, 20, in tow, Brinkley went to ex-husband Billy Joel's house in Sag Harbor, NY, People wrote. "She was just blowing off some steam, being with family. It was just a relaxing little get-together. Nothing special. Just what everyone does on the Fourth," a friend said.

Brinkley "was hugging the kids there; they were all laughing and eating. They seemed really relaxed."

Billy, Christie, and Alexa "were having a blast," another said, while they ate barbecue ribs and corn and sipped white wine with other friends and family.

At one point Alexa dropped her first plate of food - "they were all laughing about that," says the source.

Peter Cook, on the other hand, took his 13-year-old son, Jack, and girlfriend, Suzanne Shaw, out on his boat, The Sweet Freedom. An onlooker at Island Surf shop in Sag Harbor said, "He seemed fine, relaxed. He's always in here with his son. He's a good guy - and a great dad."
