Christina Aguilera Arrested for Public Intoxication; Refuses Treatment for Her Alcohol Abuse

Christina Aguilera was detained for public intoxication early Tuesday morning.

Artist Direct reports that Matthew Rutler, Christina’s new boyfriend, was driving while under the influence. His bail was set at $30,000.

The authorities booked Christina on a misdemeanor charge and claimed that she was “unable to take care of herself.”

TMZ recently learned that some of Christina’s friends and business associates have been pleading with her to get treatment for alcohol abuse.

A source revealed that Christina’s drinking became an issue during her divorce. Jordan Bratman, Christina’s ex-husband, voiced concern about Christina’s drinking when they hashed out their child custody agreement.

The source adds: “Maybe when [Christina] was married she was able to keep [her drinking problem] under wraps, but it’s out in the open now.”

Christina has refused to check herself into rehab.
