Christina Aguilera - Pregnant and Proud!

The January 2008 issue of Marie Claire magazine - due out on December 11th - will have singer Christina Aguilera gracing its cover; a proudly pregnant Christina, that is.

The "Genie in a Bottle" pop singer wore a cropped leather jacket with hoop earrings, baring her bulging belly to newsstands all over the country. Keeping the pregnancy subconsciously on the low she said, "Because I hadn't said anything, people thought I was trying to keep this big, bad secret, and that's not the case at all. I just wasn't commenting."

She discovered she was pregnant while on her "Back to Basics" tour this year. She told Marie Claire that she was "planning to try" to have a baby with her husband of two years, Jordan Bratman after her tour. "And so I had gone off the Pill to prepare my body, because I didn't know how much time it would take."

Aguilera took many precautions while on tour. She wore a heart monitor on stage for every performance and made sure her band members and dancers knew her condition. "There was no way I was going to jeopardize my baby for my show," she said. Aguilera had confirmed her pregnancy to the public in the U.K. edition of Glamour magazine, earlier this month.
