Christopher Walken Is Honored at Harvard University

Walken receives Hasty Pudding Man of the Year award.

According to the Associated Press, Christopher Walken received Harvard's Hasty Pudding Man of the Year award from the nation's oldest undergraduate drama troupe, Friday night. The 64-year-old actor spoofed a Saturday Night Live skit and performed a song from Hairspray while dressed in a brown wig and gold-colored bra. Walken reportedly commented after the show that he would have prepared himself with a couple of drinks if he had known what was in store for the ceremony.

The Hasty Pudding roasters had the actor read the recipe for "hasty pudding" and also spoofed his SNL skit by having a crew member walk out banging a cow bell.

Walken won a best supporting actor Oscar in the 1978 film, The Deer Hunter, and earned a nomination for his role in 2002's Catch Me If You Can.

The Hasty Pudding drama troupe chose Walken because he embodies the troupe's energy and has the same appreciation for humor. Walken stated he was thrilled to receive the award.
