This week on NBC’s Chuck, it almost seemed like the series was ending, but luckily only the season is over. Tons of loose ends were wrapped up, closing out almost all the plotlines of the season nicely, and introducing some new intrigue to whet your appetite for next year.
When we opened, Sarah was still dying from Volkoff’s weapon, and Chuck sets out on a quest for the antidote, with some help from his team and family. After having the intersect erased by who appears to be the next arch nemesis, Chuck breaks Alexi Volkoff out of CIA custody, reunites him with his daughter, Vivian, whom he turns back from the dark side, then breaks into the hospital where Sarah is being cared for; all without the intersect.
Once these loose ends are all squared away, there is a quick montage interspliced with the big 4-years-in-the-making-wedding scene (in case you were planning on crying during the finale), a fun Princess Bride reference, and what could have been the end of the series. Fortunately, Chuck is having another season, though it is supposedly the last, so a slew of new twists and turns were introduced in the last few moments, including a new recipient of “The Intersect.”
Chuck is on NBC on Monday nights, but you can also watch it here.
