Claire Danes to Play in Orson Welles Film
According to Reuters, actress Claire Danes is set to play in the film Me and Orson Welles, an adaptation of Robert Kaplow's novel. Richard Linklater directed the film version while Holly Gent Palmo wrote the screenplay adaptation.
Set in 1937 New York, the movie centers on a high school boy who strolls by Mercury Theatre and catches the attention of its founder, Orson Welles. The boy is cast in the play Julius Caesar, where he learns about the intricacies of life and romance. Welles's production of Julius Caesar made him the legend he is today.
Christian McKay plays Orson Welles, while Ben Chaplin plays the character of George Coulouris. Zac Efron, star of High School Musical, plays the character of the young boy. Other cast members include Eddie Marsan, Leo Bill, and Imogen Poots.
Production of the film has begun but its date of release is not yet public information.
