Clapton to Sing Songs for Relief
Support continues for tsunami salvation efforts
Singer and songwriter Eric Clapton will perform a concert to raise money for South Asia. The musical fundraiser will be held at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, on Jan. 22. All proceeds will benefit tsunami victims.
More than two-thirds of the tickets, or 45,000 of the venue's seats, have been sold. "It's an incredible achievement," said stadium manager Paul Sergeant, as the tickets have only been on sale for one day. Event organizers hope to raise over $1.8 million.
Other artists to perform at the concert include Badly Drawn Boy, Embrace, the Manic Street Preachers and Jools Holland.
