Clay Aiken's a father, now that his child, Parker Foster Aiken, with Jaymes Foster, has been born.

Clay Aiken, runner-up in the second season of American Idol, is now a father. The 29-year-old from Raleigh, North Carolina, has announced the birth of his son, Parker Foster Aiken, on his Web site's blog on Friday.

He said on his blog of his son's name, "No hyphens. One first name. One middle name. One last name," reported the Associated Press. His mother, Faye, told a Raleigh television station, WRAL, that the child was born in North Carolina.

The star was the fan favorite during his run on the second season of American Idol, where he came in second to Ruben Studdard. Measure of a Man, the album Aiken released later in 2003, went on to make double platinum. He also made his Broadway debut in the spring of this year in Monty Python's Spamalot, reported AP.

Jaymes Foster, the baby's mother, is Aiken's friend and record producer that the crooner met when he was performing on American Idol. Their son was born Friday morning at 8:08 a.m. and was 6 pounds 2 ounces and was 19 inches long, according to the statement released on his Web site, reported AP. He went on to say, "The little man is healthy, happy, and as loud as his daddy. Mama Jaymes is doing quite well also."
