Clinton Appears on SNL

Hillary Clinton made an appearance on SNL Saturday.

Hillary Rodham Clinton took a brief break from the campaign trail to thank Saturday Night Live for giving her candidacy a boost among other things.

Clinton's campaign has received a fair amount of publicity from an SNL sketch that aired a week previous to her appearance. The sketch satirically shows the way CNN anchors favored Barack Obama in that network's debate, and how the media loves Obama.

The sketch has been mentioned by Clinton on many occasions, including the MSNBC debate, and in speeches mainly in Ohio and Texas, and she has advised supporters to go to NBC.com and watch the sketch.

The sketch, Clinton said, "wasn't an endorsement of one candidate over another. I can say this confidently because when I asked if I could take it as an endorsement, I was told, 'Absolutely not.' But I still enjoyed that sketch a great deal because I simply adore Amy's impression of me."

Amy, of course, refers to Amy Poehler, who then joined Clinton on stage and asked how her campaign was going. Clinton responded: "The campaign is going very well. Very, very well. Why, what have you heard?"

Also on the show Saturday night was former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani, who appeared on "Weekend Update" a week after Mike Huckabee made an appearance on the same segment.

The musical guest Saturday night was Wilco, who supports Obama for president, and the show was hosted by Oscar award nominee Ellen Page.
