Clinton's Former Campaign Manager Endorses Obama
The Associated Press reports former President Bill Clinton's manager, David Wilhelm, announced Wednesday that he will be endorsing Barack Obama.
Wilhelm is a superdelegate and is expected to assist the Obama campaign in attaining more superdelegates.
The New York Times reports Wilhelm called the Obama Campaign "masterful" and said, "He has out-worked her [Clinton], out-organized her and out-raised her. I know organizational excellence when I see it and the Obama campaign, win or lose, will serve as a model."
According to the last count by the Associated Press, Obama has 1,224 delegates and Clinton has 1,198; however, Clinton remains ahead in superdelegates.
"The only reason this race appears to be closer than it actually is, is the number of superdelegates that bought into Senator Clinton's inevitability early - too early, it seems," Wilhelm said.
Wilhelm served as the National Manager of Bill Clinton's 1992 Campaign and later became the Chairman of the Democratic National Committee.
