Clintons Made $109 Million
According to the Associated Press, Hillary Rodham Clinton and former President Bill Clinton made about $109 million since leaving the White House.The Clinton camp released tax returns from 2000 to 2006 and gave some details for their 2007 return, for which they have requested an extension in officially filing.
Nearly half of the couple's reported income came from Bill Clinton's speeches, according to AP. In 2006 and 2007, the former president earned fees ranging from $100,000 to $450,000 for speaking to big businesses such as IBM, General Motors, Cisco Systems, Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers, the National Association of Realtors and the Mortgage Bankers Association.
"I have absolutely nothing against rich people," Hillary Clinton said Friday at a North Dakota Democratic Party convention. "As a matter of fact, my husband - much to my surprise and his - has made a lot of money since he left the White House doing what he loves doing most, talking to people."
Hillary Clinton earned about $10.5 million since 2000 from her book, Living History, according to AP. The former first lady donated the money from her other book, It Takes a Village, to charity.
The Clinton's reportedly paid $33.8 million in taxes since leaving the White House and have given about $10.25 million to charity in that time.
