Clooney Boosts Ratings

The "Ocean's Eleven" actor returns to the ER.

ER fans are perhaps depressed that the show is in its 15th and final season. Though there is some solace: George Clooney dons the hospital scrubs once again; this time he not only provides fans with joy, he's improving the show's ratings at the same time, according to Reuters.com. The ratings were stellar and they were the show's best in two years. Even though Clooney's appearance was not promoted, the ratings increased by 23 percent with 10.7 million Americans turning their TVs on to ER.

The show, which is based on an emergency room in Chicago, has been on air since 1994, and was vastly popular during that time. Clooney gained fame for playing Dr. Doug Ross, firmly cementing a place amongst Hollywood heartthrobs. He left in 2000 to pursue a full time career on the silver screen. Clooney is joined on the show by former actors Noah Wyle, Juliana Margulies, and Eriq La Salle.
