Clooney's Drama Gets Green Light from TNT

TNT network gives George Clooney a go-ahead with the police drama series.

TNT gave "Delta," a George Clooney-produced drama the green light to air, The Hollywood Reporter announced.With dramatic cop shows at their high on television networks, TNT has given the go-ahead to yet another drama-full police series.

"Delta" is a drama that follows a Memphis cop, who lives with his mother and at night impersonates Elvis. The series is co-produced by Grant Heslov and was written by Liz Garcia ("Cold Case") and Josh Harto.

The television drama was put in development at TNT a year and a half ago, and is the first pilot for Smokehouse Pictures.

The television network TNT exceeds in drama cop shows with "The Closer," "Saving Grace," and "Dark Blue" among the many shows and re-runs such as "Law & Order" and "Cold Case." TNT producers are also in talk with NBC to acquire the recently canceled drama "Southland" to join in with the rest of the line-up.
