Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

It's amazing how production companies can take a book that was meant to be a quick read like "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak and make it into a movie. They have done the same with "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" written by Judi Barrett and illustrated by Ron Barrett.

Opening today, this new IMAX adventure is at a theater near you. Talented actors such as Anna Faris, James Caan, Andy Samberg, Mr. T, and my personal favorite, Bruce Campbell, lend their voices to this fun book-turned-movie.

Many of us born in the 70's or later will remember our teacher reading this to us in 2nd grade, laughing at the plot of a man who can change water into food. Who didn't wish every now and then we could actually do that?

This movie is getting many great reviews, and is fun for all ages. I can think of at least five books I would want to see turned into a movie starting with Dav Pilkey's "Dogzilla" and "Kat Kong".
