Cobain is Highest Paid Dead Celebrity

According to Forbes.com annual list of the highest paid dead celebrities, Nirvana's lead singer Kurt Cobain has taken the number one spot this year for the first time. Cobain has not been on the list since 2000. Ever since his death, Elvis he has been sitting steady on the number one spot.

Cobain died in 1994, with a gun shot to the head and three times the lethal amount of heroin in his system. There has been speculation ever since his death as to whether or not it was suicide, even though there was a letter found beside his body at the scene.

The singer has earned approximately $50 million in the past year, leaving Elvis only earning $42 million.

Marilyn Monroe, Bob Marley, John Lennon and Ray Charles were a few other deceased celebrities on the list.
