Cohen Returns to Stage
Singer Leonard Cohen took a fall on stage during a concert in Spain on Friday. He was later rushed to the hospital. Halfway through his performance of "Bird on the Wire," the Canadian singer fainted.
Cohen had suffered from food poisoning but was reluctant to cancel his show. In the early hours of Saturday morning, the singer was given an all-clear notice. He plans to finish his Spanish concert in Barcelona on Monday. After his concert finishes in Spain, the singer is set to perform on October 17 in Florida.
He rose to fame with songs about sex, faith and betrayal during the 1960s. Cohen sings baritone and his best known song is "Suzanne" and was made for Judy Collins.
During the 1990s, Cohen quit music and became a Buddhist monk but was ultimately forced out of his retirement five years ago after losing his retirement savings.
Leonard Cohen, 74, will turn 75 years old on Monday.
