Cold feet for Chaz Bono and fiancee?

Dancing with the Stars' Chaz Bono and fiancee Jennifer Elia have decided to call it quits just weeks after Bono officially proposed to her during the premiere of Being Chaz.

In addition to halting the engagement, the couple decided to end their relationship. Bono, the transgendered son of Sonny and Cher Bono, began dating Elia six years ago, after the two met through friends.

"No further amplification will be forthcoming and they ask that you respect their privacy at this time," Howard Bragman, the couple's publicist, explains to People.

One of Bono's recent tweets suggests that the break-up seemingly has not taken a heavy toll on either individual in the relationship.

"Thanks for your concern about our separation. I'm doing fine, and we remain on good terms with nothing but respect and affection 4 eachother," the tweet read.

The pair had been engaged for the past two years, but publicized the engagement during the Nov. 28 air date of Bono's documentary, Being Chaz. During the show, Bono presents Elia with an engagement ring in Seattle.

The documentary served as a sequel to an original documentary, Becoming Chaz, an Emmy-nominated piece that captured Bono's transgender process.
