Coldplay Announces Album Details
Coldplay has announced the details on their long awaited fourth album.
First off, it will be called Viva la Vida, and will arrive June 17 in North America and a day earlier internationally, according to a spokesperson for the band.
Their album will be released on Capitol records, and is a scheduled follow-up to 2005's X&Y, which topped the Billboard 200 charts.
Coldplay hopes to continue the success of their first three albums. Parachutes, the band's first album, sold 9.5 million records. A Rush of Blood to the Head upped the ante set by the band's debut, by selling 11 million copies. X&Y sold 10 million copies. All three records have also debuted in Great Britain at number one.
Coldplay has been very close to the vest in announcing their performance dates. The only two confirmed live dates by the band are at the Pemberton Festival in British Columbia on July 27 and Summer Sonic Festival in Japan on August 9-10.
