Coldplay Tries Radiohead Approach of CD Release
According to Reuters, LeftRightLeftRightLeft, the newest release from Coldplay, is available on their Web Site for free. The album was previously given away to everyone who attended their "Viva La Vida" tour.
The live album is available for download on the Web until September 19, which is their final 2009 tour date, reports Entertainment Weekly.
"Playing live is what we love," Coldplay released in a statement, reports Reuters. "This album is a thank you to our fans, the people who give us a reason to do it and make it happen."
The album has 9 live tracks from the band's last tour.
"We wanted to give something to the people who have paid money to come see us or buy the album," front man Chris Martin said, according to the Miami Herald. "It's like a reward system in a grocery store."
