Coldplay's Viva La Vida #1 on U.S. Music Charts

Coldplay's Viva La Vida dominates U.S. music charts.

Coldplay's new music release is beginning to have a life of it's own.

Reuters reports that the band will debut at #1 on top of Billboard's Top 200 U.S. Album chart, for the week of June 25, 2008, with their fourth album release, Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends. The title reportedly has moved over 700,000 copies.

Besides the U.S., Coldplay has also debuted at #1 in their native Britain, and other various major world music charts. The band's single, "Viva La Vida," also currently reigns supreme on top of the U.S. singles music chart. The track, which is featured in the latest iTunes promotion, has amassed over one million hits on YouTube's video service.

Coldplay now joins fellow music peers Radiohead and Leona Lewis, as the third Brit act to top Billboard's Top 200 music chart so far in 2008.
