Comcast Finalizes Deal with NBC

NBC merges with Comcast for expected billions of dollars in revenues

Comcast finally merged with NBC on a valued sale of $30 billion, reported CNN Money.

Recently primetime ratings have been slumping behind other television networks, which include CBS, ABC and Fox.

This summer only one NBC Universal film was a box office hit.

The television network was bought by General Electric in 1985 for $6.3 billion.

In 2004 after including other cable television networks, such as USA and SyFy Channel, GE changed the media's name to NBC Universal.

Comcast is the largest U.S cable company with about 24 million subscribers.

Jeff Zucker, NBC Universal, will remain as CEO for the company.

In 2004 the company failed at buying Walt Disney Co. for $54 billion, the merge would have created the biggest media company.

NBC reached its highest popularity point during the 1990s when airing the popular comedies "Cheers," "ER," "Law & Order," "Seinfeld" and "Friends."

GE will be able to sell half its 49% venture and will have to wait seven more years to sell the rest.
