Comedian Greg Giraldo is now listed in stable condition after overdosing on prescription pills Saturday night, PopEater.com reports. The judge on Last Comic Standing was staying at a hotel while performing at the Stress Factory comedy club in New Brunswick.
Giraldo was unresponsive when he was found at a party in his hotel in East Brunswick, New Jersey. He was resuscitated and taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Doctors believe that this was not a suicide attempt.
Though he was set to perform that night at the comedy club, eager fans were told that he would not be there after being taken to the hospital.
Many of them took to Facebook, angry that the show was canceled, and Giraldo was hospitalized. One fan wrote: “Get help, get better, and make us laugh for the next 30 years.”
