Comedian Wanda Sykes Will Entertain at Correspondents' Dinner

Wanda Sykes is ready to "poke fun and ridicule" the US President, Barack Obama.

According to the Associated Press, the 44 year old Wanda Sykes has been selected to perform at the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington D.C. on May 9.

President Obama, along with 2,000 other guests are expected to attend the ceremony, which will be held at the Washington Hilton.

Sykes has recently stated that just the thought of her performing for such a prestigious crowd was "scary but very exciting."

She also mentioned that during her comedy "gig" nobody, not even president Obama, will be off limits as she chooses which guests she will make fun of which includes Hollywood entertainers, White House press corps, and politicians.

Last year, the actress/comedian had publicly announced that she was gay. Sykes currently co-stars with Emmy Award winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus in the CBS comedy "The New Adventures of Old Christine."
