Comedic Lennon and McCartney Reel Auctioned

The comedy stylings of the fab four sells for big money.

A rare tape of a Beatles recording session - in which John Lennon and Paul McCartney crack jokes and erupt into laughter at random - has been auctioned off for ú9,800, BBC News reports.

The piece of music history was found by a man in Northern England, whose father had worked in the music industry, while he was cleaning out his attic. The tape - sold at Cameo Auctioneers to an online bidder - is believed to be from a 1964 session, during which the fab four were recording the ballad "I'll Follow The Sun".

While struggling to cut a track of the song, Lennon and McCartney partake in witty banter. "I'm not looking at you," Lennon says, to which McCartney replies "You were". As the reel goes on, Lennon accurately assesses: ""It's just going to get funnier and funnier as the evening goes on."

"I'll Follow The Sun" was included on the band's album "Beatles For Sale". The album also featured covers of songs by Chuck Berry such as "Rock And Roll Music". The tape that was auctioned off happens to include such tracks as "I'm A Loser," "I Feel Fine", "Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby" and "Honey Don't."

Makes one want to reconsider their feelings about spring cleaning, doesn't it?
