Comedy Central Developing Multi-Camera Comedy Series

Comedy Central is currently cultivating a scarcely done multi-camera project for the cabler, a comedy revolving around two plump comedians.

Comedy Central is embarking on an uncommon endeavor for its network, a multi-camera comedy series entitled Brothers from Another Mother, starring two hefty comedians.

According to an article on THR.com, “Brothers stars Ralphie May and Lavell Crawford. May, who is white, and Crawford, who is black, will play lifelong friends who discover they're brothers when their father passes away and leaves them his barbecue restaurant.”

The cable television network has aired hardly any multi-camera projects since it launched in 1989 as the Comedy Channel. Though it does have another multi-camera undertaking debuting next month, the Will Ferrell-produced Big Lake.

The THR.com article goes on to say, “Brothers is executive produced by Ben Feigin of Anonymous Content, who brought in fellow exec producers Eric and Kim Tannenbaum and writer/exec producers Mitchel Katlin and Nat Bernstein. May and Crawford also are exec producers.”

May has had three stand-up specials air on Comedy Central, Girth of a Nation in 2006, Prime Cut in 2007 and Austin-Tatious in 2008.

Crawford’s first comedic appearances were on Def Comedy Jam and BET’s Comicview. He has also appeared on several television shows such as Premium Blend, The Jamie Foxx Show and most recently on NBC’s reality television talent show, Last Comic Standing, where he came in second behind winner Jon Reep.
