Conan Leaving Late Night Show, While Fallon Takes His Place
According to US Weekly, the NBC network has announced that former SNL star Jimmy Fallon will replace Conan O'Brien as the new host of Late Night on March 2.
O'Brien, who has the hosted the show for the past 15 years, will be officially out of work on Feb. 20, but it won't be for long.
On June 1, 2009 O'Brien will be the new host of the Tonight Show after Jay Leno retires from the show three days prior on May 29.
Leno will have his own prime-time variety show airing on weeknights at 10 p.m. PST., premiering June 1 on NBC.
NBC had first announced Fallon, 34, as the new host of Late Night in May 2008.
At Fallon's press conference he stated, "I hope to make it the best show and a great show for everyone to choose me to fall asleep during."
