Talk show host Conan O’Brien is slated to make his long-awaited return to late-night television on Monday, November 8 at 11:00 p.m. ET. One week before Conan premieres on TBS, the popular funnyman will broadcast his warm-up show, called Show Zero, at TeamCoco.com.
According to Comic Book Resources, Show Zero will include celebrity guests, members of the Basic Cable Band, and an appearance from O’Brien’s comedic sidekick Andy Richter.
The guests who will be featured in the online broadcast have yet to be announced, but O’Brien’s team of funnymen promises, “You guys are in for a treat!! You might want to have an extra pair of pants handy on Monday night.”
Next Monday’s warm-up show can also be viewed at YouTube.com/TeamCoco and Facebook.com/TeamCoco.
With all the buzz surrounding Conan courtesy of TBS’ relentless publicity campaign and the well-documented fallout of his departure from NBC earlier this year, Conan’s upcoming late-night show may have more hype behind it than his stint on The Tonight Show, the Kansas City Star speculates.
“When I worked on Saturday Night Live, Dana Carvey had this great phrase – comedy compression,” O’Brien said in reference to his smaller stage. “You want to have the right space so the comedy can bounce off the walls.”
