Comedian Conan O’Brien returned to New York City for a week of shows at the Beacon Theater. On Thursday night’s show, he did what he could not do back in Los Angeles, which is officiating a gay marriage ceremony. O’Brien, the host of TBS’s Conan, officiated the marriage of costume designer Scott Cronick and his partner David Gorshein.

During the Jewish ceremony, Gorshein waited under the chuppah as Cronick was walked down the aisle by his favorite celebrity, Bravo host Andy Cohen, according to the Los Angeles Times.

When they met onstage, the two gave very emotional vows, with Gorshein starting by saying “Anyone in the world would be happy to wear one of your designs, but no one is possibly happier than I am to wear your ring.”

“I vow to fill your every day with so much love. Cameras or no cameras, I am here today and I am yours forever," Cornick said.

Following the vows, Andy Richter brought out the two glasses, which, per Jewish tradition is supposed to be stepped on and broken by the groom. As O’Brien noted, “We have two grooms, so that means two glasses.” He then announced, “By the power invested in me by the state of New York and the Universal Life Church, I now pronounce you husband and husband. You can kiss the groom."

According to MSNBC, the wedding was part of the last show of O’Brien’s visit to New York. During the week, he actually visited the Today show as a spectator and took a New York citizenship test with Mayor Michael Bloomberg. During Thursday night’s episode, he also interviewed Donald Trump and had Triumph the Insult Comic Dog visit Occupy Wall Street.
