Conan O'Brien delivers commencement speech

Funny late-night host Conan O’Brien delivered the commencement speech at Dartmouth’s graduation on Sunday.

The Harvard alumnus kept the speech lighthearted and funny. He jokingly criticized the Ivy League school, poking fun at the wooden podium that was used during the speech and saying the school had some sort of inferiority complex, ABCNews.com reports.

“You don't even think you deserve a real podium,” he said. "It looks like you stole it from the set of Survivor: Nova Scotia or that a bear would use at an AA meeting."

He also made light of the fact that the school awarded him with an honorary doctorate of arts, according to ThirdAge.com.

“Dartmouth is giving me the same degree for interviewing the fourth lead in Twilight,” he said.

O’Brien suffered a wild ride last year during the fiasco between him and fellow late-night host Jay Leno. He noted this experience, saying failure is a “catalyst for invention.”
