The Associated Press reports that Conan O’Brien reveals that he got a call from a fellow late-night host over the holidays, and it wasn’t Jay Leno.
David Letterman called O’Brien, who’s show Conan is on TBS, to check up on him and make sure the late-night drama and shuffling around didn’t get in-between them.
On Wednesday, O’Brien told reporters he and Letterman have “always been good. I said he didn't owe me a phone call, but I appreciated it."
Furthermore, O’Brien maintained he wouldn’t have been as happy to hear from Leno, who replaced him on the Tonight show because "We all know the story”.
He says he’s still sad about departing from NBC. "That company meant a lot to me,” he admits.
