Rather than switching to a midnight late show after The Tonight Show, Conan O'Brien took a package deal from NBC, opening up the idea to start Conan O'Brien Can't Stop, a real portrayal of one man's strife for sanity through comedy and everyday life.
After former host Jay Leno took O'Brien's place after just seven months in 2010, he was left with plenty of time to do as he pleased. Rodman Flender, director of the film, found this a pivotal time to film the life of the 46-year-old comedian, according to CNN.com.
"I have an addiction to performing," O'Brien states in an interview with CNN, in chatting with Flender about the movie's title.
In the film, O'Brien goes through 32 cities performing music and, of course, comedy. The tour is called Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour, which was named after NBC barred the comedian from television for six months, according to ABCNews.com.
Some wonder why the show was created. Whether it was because he was bored with all that free time or because he wanted a way to get back at NBC, according to Patch.com.
Patch calls the film a deep look at a man who continues with his passion of comedy no matter what people may think.
