Conrad Murray to be Charged with Manslaughter, Source Says
Authorities will charge Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson's cardiologist, with manslaughter within the next two weeks in either Houston or Los Angeles, a law enforcement source told FOXNews.com.
Investigators thought the physician could be arrested as early as next Wednesday, but they would like to acquire more evidence at a Los Angeles pharmacy to build their case.
Murray was with the pop icon when he died at home on June 25. The doctor told authorities that he gave Jackson a powerful anesthetic and sedatives hours before he passed away, a law enforcement source told the Associated Press.
The coroner's office in Los Angeles has determined Jackson's cause of death but will not release the information until the investigation is complete, BBC News reported.
Murray released a video on YouTube on Tuesday to thank his supporters. In the one-minute clip, he said that he has not returned correspondence because he is afraid.
In the past month authorities have searched the physician's home, two clinics, and a pharmacy.
