Conservative Group Condemns Comedy Central’s New Cartoon

Activists protest planned Comedy Central series about Jesus

Conservative activists are joining together to protest a new Comedy Central cartoon titled, JC.

The planned animated show is about the troubles and tribulations of Jesus Christ in his youth, according to the New York Daily News. It depicts Jesus enjoying life in the city after rebuffing God.

The activist group is called the Coalition Against Religious Bigotry. Participants in the group include the president of the Media Research Center, Brent Bozell, the president of the Family Research Council, Tony Perkins, talk radio host Michael Medved, the president of the Catholic League, Bill Donohue, and the president of the Parents Television Council, Tim Winter.

The group plans on holding a press conference on Thursday to try to draw advertisers away from the series. Members have prepared a video portraying Comedy Central’s previous offenses against the Christian church in order to help their case.

The network has recently dealt with controversy when one of its shows, South Park, showed Prophet Muhammed in a bear outfit.
