Constantine Maroulis Voted Off Idol

Another [good] one bites the dust

Constantine Maroulis, the crooner / rocker who left Simon Cowell "astonished" several weeks ago with his rendition of the Queen classic Bohemian Rhapsody was voted off American Idol Wednesday. Angry fans, as well as a teary eyed Paula Abdul expressed their disbelief, as Mouroulis was heavily favored to make it to the final rounds of competition.

Scott Savol, who was told to "pack his suitcase" by the ever sensitive Simon Cowell, again found his way to safety, this week making it into the top three. Looks like his performance of "Dance With My Father" tugged at America's heartstrings after all. While many wonder what "Scotty the Body" is still doing in the competition, the answer could be simply that the average Joe identifies with him enough to vote for him.

"I feel I represent the people who get up in the morning and go to work for eight hours," he told Ryan Seacrest after his performance.

Once again leaving an impression on not only the judges, but the fans who voted her in the top three was Carrie Underwood, who went back to her roots singing a tune by country star Martina McBride.

Bo Bice, who was told by Paula he is the strongest contestant so far, received a bit of unsolicited fashion advice from the panel as well.

"Do not wear the Lenny Kravitz sunglasses," advised Simon, "they went out in 1988."

Tune in next week for more Idol competition, as well as more fashion tips from the always snappily dressed Simon Cowell.
