Corey Haim's Death Linked to Illegal Drug Ring?
There may be more to Corey Haim’s death than meets the eye.
The California Attorney General’s Office confirmed one of Haim’s prescription drugs was “unauthorized” and is in direct correlation with an illegal prescription-drug ring, People magazine reports.
“We know there was a prescription pad stolen and there was a prescription written for him using that pad, so it was fraudulent and we know it was filled," AG spokeswoman Christine Gasparac said.
A Los Angeles coroner said four prescription bottles were found at the scene of Haim’s death Wednesday, People reports, but it’s unclear whether any other of his prescriptions are tied to the reported drug ring and if Haim was aware of the illegal activities.
The AG office tells People the scam involved stealing doctor’s identities to get drug pads to fill prescriptions that were sold on the black market.
The cause of Haim’s death is still under investigation and won’t be ruled until the toxicology reports.
