Fans of Courteney Cox’s Cougar Town have been awaiting a premiere date since last season ended, and it seems as if ABC has finally given them their wish.

Valentine’s Day will be the day Cox and friends will return to the small screen, at 8:30 p.m.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Cougar Town will take the cancelled show Work It’s time slot to begin Season 3.

The announcement comes as a bit of a surprise, as ABC entertainment chief Paul Lee recently said recently at the Television Critics Association press tour that the sitcom would be coming back sometime in March.

“We’re going to give [Cougar Town] a really good launch pad,” Paul explained, noting that the show will be a part of a series of “young comedies” that will also include Don’t Trust the B**** in Apartment 23 and Happy Endings.

Creator Bill Lawrence tweeted a confirmation about the premiere date of the show, writing "Cougar Town is back. Valentine's day. Big show changing episode. Stay in, watch, and I'll send you a bottle of wine,” E! Online reports.

Furthermore, according to TV Line, the show had to be cut down from 22 episodes to 15.
